CWS Kits

The youth recently assembled 48 health and school kits to the Church World Service Project.  Thank you to everyone who donated items to help make this a huge success!

Work Day at Camp Mt. Luther was a beautiful day.  Cheyenne Mitchell and Dylan Lundy smiled and told great memories of camp.  They certainly cannot wait to attend camp again this summer.  While we were cleaning the cabin we realized the cabin is in need of some new things: covers for ceiling lights, new curtains and some windows need screens fixed and the cabin needs to be painted outside soon.  We are hoping to organize these activities with the Camp Director for next year’s work day.

June 13 – The Youth will be traveling to the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon and the Zoo at the Grand Canyon after worship. Please leave Molly know if you are going so we have make travel arrangements.

June 15-August 12 – The Jersey Shore Summer Recreation Program will be offering a Monday to Friday program for elementary age children including a free lunch. The program is offered free.

June 15-16 – The annual Rails to Trails Bike Camp offered by the Jersey Shore Summer Recreation Program and St. John Lutheran Church will be offered for Middle-School age boys. We will be biking/camping/hiking from Wellsboro Junction to Jersey Shore. Contact Pastor, 748-4581, if you can go. The program is offered free.

June 20 – Father’s Day

The youth will be distributing a small gift to all to the Men of St. John in honor of Father’s Day.  The children’s choir directed by Cathy Eisner will sing for Father’s Day at the 10:30 a.m. service.

June 28-July 1 – The Jersey Shore Summer Recreation Program will be offering a new girls program for Middle-School age girls. They will be camping and doing other activities at Raystown Lake. Contact Julie Wagner at 398-2642 to register.

July 6 – Hiawatha Family Cruise.  This one and half hour cruise features make your own sundaes.  The riverboat departs at 6:00 p.m. sharp.  Tickets are $2.50 if you are interested in attending please contact Molly.  Checks can be made payable to St. John Lutheran Youth.

July 7 – Sojourner’s Café.  The youth will be serving dinner at 6:00 p.m. at Sojourner’s Café in Williamsport on Wednesday, July 7th.  We are in need of youth to help serve and clean up dinner.  If you are interested in helping please contact Molly.

July 31 – Youth Serve Breakfast at St. John. Please report at 8:00 a.m. We should be cleaned up and finished by 10:00 a.m. Help those less fortunate in our community by serving a hot meal.

August 8 – Blessing of the Keys Service. This is for all youth who have recently obtained their driver’s license or anticipate applying for a permit in the coming year, join us for a special blessing upon you and your parents as you make this important step in your life.

August 10-12 – Trip to Ocean City, Maryland. If you are interested in going, please contact Molly or Pastor as soon as possible. Cost is $30 <18 years of age, $40 > 18 years of age. We will be staying at St. Peters Lutheran Church located one block from the beach. Meals are on your own.

The 5th Quarter

Go Jersey Shore Bulldogs!  This fall join us after each HOME Football game for the 5th Quarter. Home games for 2010 are September 3 and 17, October 8, 15 and 29. 

Bring your friends (EVERYONE IS WELCOME) and enjoy some music, snacks, and fun!  We need adults to help! 

Youth Group

Youth Group will be held at St. John on the second Sunday of each month beginning on September 12 at 6:30 p.m.  We are looking for advisors to help with the Middle and High School youth groups.  If you are interested please contact Molly.  Everyone is welcome to join and you may bring a friend too!
